Postby madjock » Tue Mar 11, 2014 5:52 pm

Hi all im trying to get a good image of Saturn and Jupiter but so far my efforts have been dire. Its a learning curve and some of the images i have gotten are better than i could have wished for.

Jupiter is very bright - much brighter than most things in the sky we are set up to image (nebulae, galaxies etc). You need to use a very short exposure in conjunction with a filter that cuts out a lot of light (ND3, OIII, Halpha all work).

There is more information here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3282&p=4424

Good luck!
