Exscitec Ltd cancelled your automatic payments

Postby Jeremy5 » Tue Oct 20, 2015 5:26 pm

....is the title of an email I just got, which tells me that my BRT subscription has been unilaterally cancelled.

Any idea what's going on? Has BRT folded?

Jeremy

Hi,

I've not had an email but I've checked my BRT accounts and apparently I have 'a free pass to the site'.

Deep joy :?:

David.

Exscitec Ltd cancelled your automatic payments

Dear Dirk

Exscitec Ltd cancelled your automatic payments. This means we'll no longer automatically draw money from your account to pay the merchant. If you have any questions, you may ask Exscitec Ltd about this cancellation.

Hi,

Yes, we have cancelled your PayPal recurring payment to the telescope. Your current subscription month will run as normal.

When that comes to an end, it may be the case that your access will continue.

Unfortunately we can't provide any further information at this time. We will provide more information when we can.

Chris

Cancelling subscriptions note!

Postby John » Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:04 am

Hi - the cancellation of the subscription means that as long as the telescope continues to work you will be able to use the telescope without charge. We are currently in the process of moving the base of the telescope from the University of Bradford and until the new arrangements are complete you will have free use. We are not taking on any new subscriptions whilst this happens. John

I would like to make it clear that Exscitec are highly valued partners of the Robotic Telescope and we are very pleased to work with them and to continue to work with them.

We are in the midst of a transfer at the moment which we expect will make everything much better for the telescope and will enable us to devote more time to the users, developing more extensive resources for their astronomy and for learning astronomy. The telescope will remain at the Observatory in Tenerife. The staff and the hosting systems will move and that is where we are. Much has been agreed but the legal transfer documents have not yet been signed.

If there are any problems and issues, please deal with me john@telescope.org

In the meantime your support is greatly valued and you have a telescope that is free to use. We do hope to be charging you again soon.

Dark Skies

John
