Re: Are Observations Happening Again?

Hi Mika

A few users are assisting in testing COAST at this present time, and the telescope is returning images so that any problems can be identified and rectified. For more information you should contact a member of the team by e-mail, as I'm not sure how often they visit the forum.

Re: Issues with COAST

I believe there will be a site visit sometime soon (after Easter), so hopefully the focus, camera orientation, filter selection and drift in RA & Dec will be looked at.

Re: Issues with COAST

Hi Bob, I've had an R image of OJ287 when my selected filter is V. Fortunately it's easy enough to spot once photometry has been done. This has only happened on one occasion though, despite a number of my jobs being in V. The focus is a problem too, and today's (March 30/31) batch of images have bee...

Re: How do we attribute images?

When I post CCD Variable Star data to VSnet and CVnet, I include "Autonomous Robotic Telescope (ART) unless stated otherwise" in the message.

Re: request of photo

I too have now received three jobs back. Excellent quality. Two positioned centrally and one off centre, but still well positioned for photometry.

It's good to have this telescope back and operational.

Well done to all concerned.

Re: request of photo

You can check the latest images obtained by ART by visiting this page http://www.telescope.org/v3job-search.php then choose any one of the pre-set searches. It does appear that a few jobs were completed on the 9th and 10th of September, and reports from one observer who received several back were th...

Re: Is this forum still live?

Just for information - I received my confirmation e-mail this morning (May 12).

Not sure about different accounts. I would think that you will receive an e-mail for each account though as they will have different usernames.

Re: Is this forum still live?

I don't think anyone has yet received e-mail confirmation after logging in that their account has been transferred. I guess this will happen after the deadline date.

Re: Is this forum still live?

I think the telescope will be functioning again sometime in the future, but under the control of another university. However a previous post by David suggests that the telescope might be used for student research. What this means for schools and amateurs is anyones guess, but I think the good old da...
